Event Brief

As part of their employee reward scheme, Asian Paints provided a week of activities for over 900 employees and their families from India. The international guests were split into three groups of 300 over the course of three weeks. Asian Paints searched all over the country for a venue that could provide the space, facilities and atmosphere they wanted for a day of fun activities…and found Garlands Corporate to be perfect place in every respect!

Event Overview

Arriving to traditional drums and dancers, the focus of the Garlands day was definitely the cricket tournament; our groundsman John had prepared the wicket weeks in advance, umpiring all the matches with impeccable fairness. Surrounding the cricket pitch was an Indian Mela of stalls, the main marquee, picnic tables and a variety of food stalls serving authentic Indian recipes for all the guests.

With 15 chefs coming over from India, guests were treated to the subtle flavours and sumptuous delicacies of regional Indian food throughout the day. Working with our suppliers, the chefs prepared an arrival breakfast, three course lunch and high tea for all, utilising the warehouse as the preparation kitchen, with outside live cooking continuously tempting our senses!

Asian Paints Bridge Building

Teams of up to 50 guests rotated around six activities, including rifle and laser clay shooting, bridge and raft building, quad obstacle, kart and power turn buggy racing – making the most of the 150 acre site. Each activity was scored as part of their week-long competition.

Their week also included a trip to Lord’s, Windsor Castle, Madame Tussauds, the London Eye to name a few, but we are proud that their day spent at Garlands came out on top!
