Mythe Barn played host to the Air Ambulance Annual Christmas Conference this December. This was a celebration of their successful year and an opportunity to give awards to those who had gone above and beyond the call of duty.
Members of the organising team were given access the night before to dress conference tables, set up the helicopter simulator and the exhibition room. The majority of the 154 guests came dressed for the occasion as fairy-tale characters and each table had a centrepiece depicting a children’s storybook.
The Air Ambulance based their operation from Mythe Farm for the day, including two vehicles on site and two Air Ambulance Helicopters that were expertly landed on Event Field #2. The two helicopters provided the backdrop for the team photo at midday. Everyone had a go at setting the record for taking off and landing a helicopter using the simulator which was hotly contested throughout the day.
At the end of their morning meeting, Santa Claus arrived with four helpful elves, (who were children from the local primary school) and introduced them to the audience as the fancy dress judges. The elves mingled and chatted amongst the many characters as they paraded through the exhibition and photo studio. At the awards ceremony, it was Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother that the judges declared the best dressed. The day ended with a very active and engaging drumming workshop leaving everyone on a high.
“Words can’t probably express my gratitude really. The whole team at Mythe Barn were on hand to handle all our concerns, queries and were so amenable, flexible and helpful, and my appreciation for that is off the scale! You really did become part of our conference, and it was just fab how the children came in to help judge the fancy dress, have a go on the simulator and see the helicopters – icing on the cake!”
